Wasting Light
If you are not familiar with them (the Foo Fighters), you should be. They have been here since the early 90s forming from other already heavily popular groups. They released their first album in 95, and haven’t looked back. Lead singer Dave Grohl is known for his membership in the band Nirvana where he was drummer with lead singer and good friend Kurt Cobain. Dave has also worked with Nine Inch Nails, Tenacious S and a lot of other well known and lesser known acts.
The Foo Fighters set records with their second Studio album, The Colour and The Shape. Hitting high on the Charts with, Everlong, My Hero and Monkey Wrench. Their last album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, released in 2007 echoed of the days when heavy hitting post-grunge ruled the airwaves. The album was most know for the track, Long Road to Ruin.
Even though the listening style of todays world has changed the band still has a huge following, those grunge kids had to grow up right? Foo Fighters newest release, Wasting Time. Has hit number one on the Austrian album chart, Canadian album chart and U.S. Billboard just to name a few. The record also went platinum in the AU.
Foo isn’t a band to fuck with and neither is there seventh studio album, that being said the band is still very humbling. In an interview with The Music Network, lead singer Dave talks about recoding this album in his garage, he said “ There’s poetry in being the band that can sell out Wembly but also make a record in a garage.” Listening to the album you defiantly don’t hear a garage band, you hear music greats making history and playing for the soul to an audience who can’t stop listening and is hungry for more. Wasting Light was released April 2011, available now.
